Federal prosecutors in Minnesota have filed charges against two Texas brothers for allegedly kidnapping a family at gunpoint and coercing them into transferring $8 million in cryptocurrency. Raymond Christian Garcia, 23, and Isiah Angelo Garcia, 24, reportedly used an AR-15-style rifle and a shotgun to invade the victims' home in Grant, Minnesota, binding the couple and their son before forcing the crypto transfer. The specific cryptocurrencies involved were not disclosed by the Department of Justice.

The incident sent shockwaves through the local community, prompting the cancellation of a homecoming football game as law enforcement conducted a manhunt. "A violent kidnapping that stole $8 million and silenced a homecoming game is not just a crime. It is a blow to the sense of safety of everyone in Minnesota," said Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph H. Thompson. The case underscores the dark intersection of physical violence and digital asset theft.
